Dr. Paul K. Tran
Dr. Paul K. Tran is our therapeutic optometrist and proud of his reputation of being the best eye doctor in Laredo, TX. Graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology at the University of Florida in 1988, Dr. Tran went on to earn his Doctor of Optometry degree at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee in 1992. Dr. Tran completed his extensive clinical training at The Kendall Eye Institute and Morris Eye Clinic in Miami, Florida.
After gaining real life experience working with an optometrist for one year, Dr. Tran established Tran Vision Center in 1993. He is currently an active member of the American Optometric Association, the Texas Optometric Association, the Border Optometric Society, and he is a board member of the Independent Provider Association. His passion for optometry and his patients is what makes him such a wonderful optometrist. He works hard every day to help others see the world in the way it should be seen – clearly.
Dr. Kassandra N. Peña-Benavides
Dr. Kassandra N. Peña-Benavides is a therapeutic optometrist who is eager to serve her hometown Laredo community. A graduate of John B. Alexander High School, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a concentration in Neurobiology from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 2015, and received her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of the Incarnate Word Rosenberg School of Optometry in 2020. In addition to eye care involvement with the Rosenberg School of Optometry, her clinical experience includes work at the Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Salem, Virginia and the McCormick Vision Source in Austin, Texas. Dr. Peña-Benavides is excited to share her passion for patient care, ocular disease, contact lens, and pediatric optometry with her fellow Laredoans.
Dr. Gustavo Torres
Dr. Torres is an optometrist raised in Palmview, Texas. He graduated from the University of Houston with his Bachelor of Science in Biology and Public Health and then continued at the University of the Incarnate Word – Rosenberg School of Optometry where he earned his Doctor of Optometry degree. He then went on to complete a residency in ocular disease at the Texas Valley Coastal Bend VA.
Dr. Torres is a member of the American Optometric Association, Texas Optometric Association, and the Armed Forces Optometric Society. He is licensed by the Texas Board of Optometry and is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry.
In his free time Dr. Torres enjoys cooking, playing saxophone and piano, and spending time with his family.
